Few issues or concerns are likely to dominate political and social
discourse for the next decade to the degree that affordable housing
will. With homelessness high, a lack of accomodations, and a shortage
of appropriate housing for seniors, housing is now a hot button issue
not just for social development experts, but also for economic
development professionals and government officials at local,
regional, state and federal levels - not to mention the private builder.
Whether discussing housing for the unemployed, under-employed, the
workforce, or elderly retired, the dialogue is becoming more intense
and solutions to the problems more elusive. Cooperation and
creativity will be essential if we are to avoid a regional housing
crisis. Those who clearly understand the interconnected issues and
who most effectively balance competing needs of different community
segments will achieve the quality of life goals we hold dear.
Here at the KHA, we expect to lead the way. For over 50 years we have
set standards, served the community and built for the future. We are
consistently named among the best in public housing management.
Additionally, we are now the first choice of private sector
developers and property owners looking for competent managers and
administrators. With cooperation and creativity as our guiding
principles, we look to the next 50 years.
